  • 3rd Row - Carpeted Floor insert - once seats removed

    Hi all,

Is anyone making a "carpeted floor" insert for the rear of the prado 150 once the 3rd row seats are removed?

I have seen a few people have done it themselves, however I am thinking there might be someone out their making a product that fits perfect with maybe cargo "rail system" or something....

    thanks

    Bernie.

Thanks Bendman, that's exactly what I was after....

Has anyone fitted just the "false floor" from http://www.offroadsystems.com.au and do you have pictures?

Checked the website and could not find any.

    Bernie

Are you talking about a hard base or just something to protect the back of the seats when they are folded flat? My Kakadu came with a Toyota branded rubber cargo mat that is fairly thick and sits over the folded seats.

Fair enough, I agree the rubber mat isn't thick enough for a fridge slide.

I like the first one you posted there, It gives access to the extra space from removing the seats but without going to the full extent of installing a draw system.

          I think i'm sold!

EDIT: I emailed them about getting one custom made with the tie-downs recessed into the floor, the response i received was "These units are made in South Africa and we can't do modifications", which is a bit of a shame...

Hi Simon I have fitted a piece of ply and removed the tie-down points and bolt ply down that way seems to be strong enough.

I am thinking hard base (about 12mm carpeted ply)... More for mounting a fridge slide onto than anything. Thanks for the suggestion though, I have the Toyota rubber mat and am quite pleased with it but I don't want to pull out the seats nor drill into the back of them.

            Thanks again

Maybe you can try the guys at Drifta. They made a carpeted false floor for my drawers to sit on. Not sure if they would do it just as a base but you never know until you call them.

Either that or talk to ORS, I have their drawers fitted, but the base that the drawers are on could easily be covered with carpet to give you a floor & no doubt have tie down points installed as well.
