Do you have the m8 nutserts on both sides of the transmission cross member?Originally posted by Rogerthatv2 View PostPicked up from the painters today, installing tomorrow. This is one of the steps, serious stuff...
Do the m8 bolts supplied with your steps screw the whole way into said nutserts? (or any nutserts on the chassis?)
Or do they only go in a turn and then stop as if they're the wrong pitch?2011 150series GXL

If you're not set on arb have a look at the tjm steps I much prefer their mounting and they're cheaper.Originally posted by vxcruiser08 View PostInterested to see a photo. Very close to cancelling my order to complete a few other mods instead for my upcoming trip... gone way over budget and can't decide!
Depends if they fit a vx though?
I'm a bit disappointed with the complexity/mounting of the arb steps to be honest.2011 150series GXL

Definitely worth considering Wooley. Still trying to figure out which one provides more clearance, the ARB ones look like factory clearance still...
My Prado is actually a GXL. My username was created when I had a Landcruiser 200 series, which was actually a Sahara lol. I was originally looking @ VX's...

If its a GXL go the TJM ones, I would have. ARB have just done it this way to fit KDSS model vehicles.-----------------------

Yeah the TJM steps are much better. If it wasn't a 1500km trip to return my arb steps I'd take them back and go TJM.
Even if it meant missing out on scrub rails.
Having to unbolt the transmission cross member, drill holes in it, and use U-bolts seems silly when there is 5 million nutserts in the chassis.2011 150series GXL

Yeah I did.Originally posted by vxcruiser08 View PostWooley did you order steps and scrub bars? If so, when are you fitting? Would like to see yours fitted if thats the case
I'll be fitting them as soon as I get some appropriate bolts.
Hoping that's in the next day or so if I get a couple of hours one night.2011 150series GXL

Now Wooley, as a man with several sheds and a number of donor vehicles you are seriously telling me that you don't have the right size bolts?????????????????????????????????????????My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

I will give ARB one thing, no sharp edges on the alloy step tread so saved me effort in prepping them for my painter. Thought I would be lineshing them back. I have also had the treads painted, will be interesting to see how it holds up...-----------------------
