No, but I've plugged my iPhone in there using the sync cable. That way I get playlists etc selectable through the head unit.

And here comes the pineapple - it only works when you are stationary!! I spoke the the bloke at Chatswood Toyota and was admonished for suggesting such an unsafe thing as enabling playlist selection whilst driving, or even the ability to cycle to the next song.

"Surely it is no different to selecting a different radio station?" I said. Alas, Mr Toyota didn't see the similarities.

                Hutch,

I plug my iPod into the USB and works fine. VZ uses a mini USB with his music on it and it also works a treat.

                Cheers,

I use an el-cheapo MP3 player I got from Dick Smith for 50c on clearance LOL, the factory stereo reads the files no problem.

I use a classic 160gb ipod which is brilliant. When I stop the engine, the ipod pauses, then turns itself off, then back on again when I next start the car up again and the player plays from where it left off.
The ipod is on shuffle so it mixes the music up very well.

I have all of this music copied onto a usb stick that is for backup, if the ipod packs it in when you are on some great trip in the middle of nowhere. (Murphy has a bit to do with this)

I have done all this because I know what music is avail and I do NOT like adds and talkback on the radio.

Hutch, it does work very well.

                    Cheers

If you have your music in iTunes, there are a couple of apps that you can use to rip them out into standard mp3 files.

Hutch i have that problem with some mp3's that i have copied onto my usb stick, some play and some won't, it must be something in quality in which they were encoded.others can correct me on this but my stock stereo does not play all mp3's on my usb, but all the ones on my 160gb ipod classic play well
