I know this is a really dumb thing to say but you know the apple tunes are a different file format that wont play on anything except granny smiths? If it is just an mp3 issue someone should rip some mp3s at different quality settings and see which work and which don't. I haven't even tried this yet though I am going to if I am ever at home with a Prado in the garage. I guess another question would be is there a limit on the size of the USB drive? Some later larger types cannot be read on earlier OS.

It is disappointing that you cannot get bluetooth streamin with factory satnav. A friend of mine subaru got the same issue as well. For me, it doesn't bother me much. I just copied a few folders off my computer to test and it works.
It only support FAT32 so 4GB USB stick only. IIRC, about 999/9999 songs per directory. It is somewhere in the manual though.Originally posted by mjrandom View PostI guess another question would be is there a limit on the size of the USB drive? FAT32 file system can be applied to any size USB stick. It is just that a single file cannot be bigger then 4GB. For that you need to reformat the USB stick to NTFS but most likely, your stereo will not be able to recognise it.Originally posted by fatty boy View PostIt only support FAT32 so 4GB USB stick only. Hello all,
I use a 16GB USB to store my music on and I used to find it frustrating that once you are travelling and want to change albums you only have a choice of the ones shown on the touch screen.
(I have an Altitude with the savnav and stereo, I assume this is the same ones as the VX and Kakadu).
When you are stationary it is possible to scroll through all the albums but as soon as you start to move the scroll arrows are "greyed" out on the touch screen giving you a choice of only the 6 albums shown. I have about 28 albums on each 16GB USB that I use.
A tip I found on the weekend is you can use (or the passenger can), the up and down arrows for the disk change on the stereo below and this will enable you to scroll through all the albums on the USB while you are moving. It takes a few seconds for it to do it but I think that is because I am using a slow USB.
Next thing I need to figure out is how to set a destination on the satnav while the car is moving.
cheers
Johno

Ok just loaded 180 odd songs onto a 4GB stick all working good, now to put the music into folders so I can find songs easier.
