Kaymar rear bar and reversing sensors beeping

I installed a Kaymar rear bar on my 150 GX a while ago, and it seems to have upset the reverse sensors. The GX doesn't have a camera, it just beeps as you get closer to something, but mine beeps slowly all the time (while reversing) but does beep quicker when you get close to another car. It seems like the sensors are picking up the tow ball, spare wheel (still on the door at this stage) or something else, as they do change position a fair bit from the standard bumper. Maybe I should take both tow ball and spare wheel off and retry - or just get around to mounting the spare up on the bar.

Has anyone else had any dramas with this, and do they sensors need to be orientated a certain way? I'm sure it didn't do it before the rear bar.

Sounds like your reversing sensors are picking up the bar/tow ball.

To determine which one is doing it, stick a bit of dark coloured tape over the sensor eyes, and remove one piece of tape at a time to see if it is only one or more than one sensor picking up the bar. (may or may not work)

I know it's something small and silly that can often be over looked, but have you tried cleaning the sensors?

My GXL front sensors (toyota "genuine" aftermarket ones so different to the rear ones) have a habit of beeping randomly when they get dirty, a simple wipe fixes the problem.

I'm having my left hand middle sensor replaced on Friday, appears to be faulty has given me grief since the rear bar was fitted, the other three work fine, hopefully that will fix the issue?
