I had the same conversation with a number of people this year, and also pointed this out with the Australian Toyota dealers where I've purchased my Prado from. As per the drivers manual on the new Prado, all 2014 Prado have DRL and the VX/ Kakadu model are the only models within the Prado range that have LED DRL.

That is why I am disappointed when ARB released the Prado bull bars, hiding the tear drop light and the Sahara bar coming up a quarter of the way up the front grill. If I wanted a higher ground clearance I could easily purchased a higher suspension or better still, not go through a route where my Prado can not go through.

I want one... where did this picture come from, Australian site or US?

I'm searching for it now. It's from Portugal!

It's ballsy! Brings back tough looking that seems to be missing in bars from the usual suspects of late

Yep, that is true. I believe the bar is not only for frontal protection but also a tough stylish "run at me" look. The wow factor will come from the bar being molded to the body as one.

Thanks DDK... I checked out their site already, they reckon it is going to take 12 weeks for the first shipment to arrived. I'm so glad I waited this long for some random bull bar from some random country to bring in a Bull bar that is actually moulded to the fourby's front end. And, from looking at it, it has the highest clearance and the best approach angle a bar could have, that's currently available here in the Australian market without sacrificing the new look.

They also posted the bar is currently undergoing ADR compliance testing, I imagine that may delay things.

                      • I got approval from the missus, it is going to cost me more than the TJM T3 bar but I don't care it has the wow factor.
I will wait another 12 or more weeks just to get the best looking bar out there.

                          • Ok... I have three prices, and I need a hand picking one out:-
TJM - T3 bar/side steps (both color coded) and a snorkel - $4098 (locally fitted),
ARB - Deluxe winch bar/rails and side step (all color coded) - $4440 (locally fitted), and
AFN (Wolf 4x4) - Type III bull bar - $2150 (delivery $475), it will cost me 500 +/- for color coding and 400+/- for fitting (total $3525+/-).

I don't know which one I should choose, these are my concerns:-
TJM - the missus doesn't like TJM,
ARB - it is covering the new face lift, it is the best brand in Australia (over rated now days), and
AFN - too expensive for one item, it will take 8 weeks plus delivery days on top, it is the best looking bar on the market, it has the WOW factor.

I am sort of now leaning towards ARB.

                            • My vote ARB. You get what you pay for... although i don't mind TJM but i prefer the look of the ARB gear.
