Front bumper replacement costs

Hi guys, some bad news left my car at the boat ramp after launching at 3am, and came back home at 11am to find someone has reversed their trailer under the front left hand bumper without leaving any note. Such a low act and i'm fuming over it. (Wish i had replaced my faulty dash cam earlier).

Anyway, i'm with AAMI and considering replacing the bumper with a bullbar instead.

Has anyone done this, and would AMMI approve such work even though its not really repair as such?

Do the maths add up (ie. bullbar simular costs to installing a new bumper/repainting?)

Hi there similar thing happened to me last week I called alliance and asked if the would do the same and contribute towards a bullbar they flat out refused and said they would only return the car to original condition ,even thought they would save $1500 doesn't make send e but I guess if they did everyone would be "being backed into " ....wink wink

You may be able to work some thing out with the actual repairer ?? .... Cheers Steve

After a prang about ten years ago with an old Rodeo, I asked AAMI to replace the damaged front bumper with a bullbar and they agreed with no problems.
