  • Colour coded bar or not.

I have just purchased a new silver pearl 2014 GXL 150 and and I am in two minds about weather to colour code the ARB bar and side rails or just stay with the black, Does anyone have a picture with black gear on it because I have seen one with the silver and it looks good . I am just looking for somthing to push me over the edge ha ha.

Had a colour coded bar on crystal, pearl 120.
        Looked great...but....
Stone chips soon marred the bar. Allowed black powder coating to show through +++
Maybe it was the quality of the colour coded paint job by ARB.
I did do lots of gravel roads, so stone chips expected.
Life over again.......I'd go with the black powder coat finish frankly.

Love my colour coded bar, wouldn't have it any other way. After tens of thousands of outback k's it still looks great, only a couple of small chips.

            Cheers Andrew

Silver colour coded always looks the goods. Nice.
If you want a tougher offroader look then maybe black bar. Less maintenance eg; stone chips.

The first colour coded bar I have had is the T3 on the 150. All the others have been basic black. But that is on white or silver (and gold) cars. I like the blue bar on the 150 but I think that has a lot to do with the quality of the finish. On silver I would have stuck with black.

I would stick with all black if I was doing it again. Black on silver looks pretty good, plus I hate having to touch up the colour coded one

When I had my Bar painted they used some sort of special hardener in the paint so it would be a lot more chip resistant than normal paint.

maybe that's why I don't seem to have the chipping issues others have?

I am having a professional rear bar made up. Would be nice to know the colour coding has something like that added.
