Lippa was interested in doing one, I was for a while, but have settled on using my iphone and iPad with Hema. It isn't amazing but it gets the job done.
Have the system and love it, over the period of owning the car the expense was worth it.
Hi,
So you have an Advanced Ice system in a 2014 150 series? I'm looking at getting something for my GXL and just want to know a few things if you don't mind:
Did you get it installed or did you do it yourself?
Either way - was it a big job?
Does it work well and intergrated like a factory install?
Does the reversing camera still work the same?
Did you get the version with Hema maps, and if so what the mapping like?
Whats the navigation like generally?
Thanks in advanced, was looking at an Alpine refit but apparently it's not as easy as it sounds.
Hi there, had the unit installed by prestige sunroofs, it only took them about 45 minutes and mine was the first install and it was truly a plug and play it worked a treat.
It integrates with the original system perfectly, I did get the hema maps option. Which I have not tried yet.
The road mapping system is the best I have had, way better than the tom tom etc.

So all in all no complaints
Hi there scoopix,
Thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it. I want one but just wanted to be sure it worked before handing over the cash
Most important is location in the car of the "Blackbox" which has the SD card with maps. Place it where you can easily get to (e.g. empty space in the middle of Prado dashboard). You need to remove SD card and insert into your PC to update maps and to register your product. If you want Hema maps you need to order with that option as you cannot add Hema maps later (Blackbox is different).
I wonder if the "SD" card in the black box can be inserted into the factory SD card slot that you find on the higher models with NAV already

Cannot check as Toyota installed the Blackbox in a hard to get to place. Half of the dashboard has to come off and unit unscrewed from the car to get to the SD card ... Toyota technician spend hours on it in front of me when rectifying an issue ...
Anyway VX GPS is nicer to use with its on road maps and also has fire trails, some tracks etc.
Thats good to know as I have the vx/kaka unit in mine.
I'll stick to that and have my hema maps on my tablet beside me and the good old rooftop paper map as a backup.
