Yea I've only found out how to set the "night mode" couples weeks ago...after suffering months of flashlight bright screen during night driving... never thought the little round switch located on the dashboard would also control the centre screen at all!

Ah I can't remember if it does, now that I think of it it does because the instrument cluster and multi screen are always on day and night. Still trying to come up with a good photo to put on thereOriginally posted by ice.t View PostYea I've only found out how to set the "night mode" couples weeks ago...after suffering months of flashlight bright screen during night driving... never thought the little round switch located on the dashboard would also control the centre screen at all!-=2014 GXL D4D Auto Graphite, Firestone Airbags, ARB/Optima D34 Dual Battery, ARB UVP, TJM Airtech Snorkel=-

From memory there is a size limit of the files, check that in the manual.Originally posted by Piney View PostI am unable to change any image. I have two different images in two different folders named StartupImage and DisplayOffImage and no success! The images are JPEG from iPhoto. Any ideas please.
Also with the file names i think no special characters are allowed it must contain only numbers or letters.

Yep, if you ever have issue with a USB drive, usually FAT32 format will solve it. Not just for Prado but generally for other multimedia issues. There are awful lot of devices that are still using this format.Originally posted by Fred63 View PostFAT32.
Is what is used.D4D. How long will it last?

Does anyone know the correct aspect ratio we need to resize the images to make them full screen?
Using Picasa crop function i tried 16:9 (HD) and seems to snip a bit off the bottom not the top and sides are perfect. Using (16:10) setting top and bottom are fine but a small bit on either sides are cut off.
Im stumped...

Had a quick play today on the '16 model I think it's WGA - 800x480, or the equivalent ratio (15:9).
I used Paint.net to resize images to 800 wide, then cropped canvas to 480 high.
I'm left a little underwhelmed however, the Toyota splash screen still stays up for a good 3-5 seconds, then your image is up for 1 second before cutting to the home screen.
And others said don't bother with the "DisplayOffImage" you'll probably never see it.

I'm glad someone else said this, because I've just changed the startup image myself and was pretty disappointed to only see my image for about 0.5s. Seems like a pretty pointless "feature" tbh.Originally posted by beatit99 View PostI'm left a little underwhelmed however, the Toyota splash screen still stays up for a good 3-5 seconds, then your image is up for 1 second before cutting to the home screen.

I can confirm this works (mostly) on a 2017 Prado 150.
Key points:
1. The USB stick has to be formatted as FAT32. Any other format is not recognized.
2. The factory USB port is the one aft of the gear stick, just in front of the center storage.
3. The Prado will only transfer one jpeg file from the folders on my USB stick, even though I have multiple photos in the proper folders, and despite the fact that there appear to be 4 slots available for transferred images in the Prado head unit.
