The cook wants a fridge/freezer with separate compartments and separate controls. I have seen the Primus Duo. Are there any others around and would you recommend them?

I just bought the techni ice 80L dual zone which looks very similar to the primus. The techni ice now come with danfoss compressors and 6 year warranty. They take a LONG time to come in though as they seem to sell out their stock very fast. I ordered mine for last fathers day and it only arrived 2 weeks ago! Happy with the quality though. Stainless body, dual controls, separate lids, remote control, cover and those odd techni ice freezer cold packs things. I dont know if it will last as long as a big brand fridge/freezer but with 6 year warranty Im happy enough to give it a go.
Cheers

For fear of being biased.. we sell Ironman4x4 twin compartment fridges and they are on sale at the moment for $895.00 including the bag plus freight at our shop only. This is a good deal as the RRP went up as of today on them to $1199.00. They look a lot like a couple of other brands so you don't have to be a rocket scientist to work out they are the same fridges.
I will confess however that I still have my Engel that I bought in 1996..

I've been looking at these...

Me thinks they might also be getting around with different stickers on them...A good friend will bail you out of gaol, a true friend will be sitting beside you saying, "wasn't that a blast" ...

one of the main things i looked at when buying a fridge was the useable space inside the fridge and the average current draw, some of the cheaper fridges will draw up to 10amps, its also easy for companies to show current draw specs and not mention the ambient temperature, no one wants hot beer after the battery has gone flat after a short period.

Also one thing I have been caught out with . I bought a 60L evakool fridge/freezer which I I am very happy with and works well as the compressor is on the side of the fridge instead of underneath which helps with keeping the cold in and the current draw down & extra thick walls also help sort of working as an esky as well. I am now looking at drawers before we go away mid year. Well because the fridge is longer and the compressor is on the side ,it just fits in the back of the prado as is, so I have to either have it on a slide on the floor and 2 drawer option next to it which will not be as high as other cause no compressor underneath . I don't think it will fit higher up on a side by side 2 drawer system once I add a cargo barrier (half barrier on top of drawers ) cause the back door and 2nd row seats angle inwards. I was hoping it would fit above above a 2 drawer side by side system as I reckon on the floor with 2 beside would be a greater waste of space when the fridge is not in the car. Great fridge though , maybe I'll contact drifta to see if they have made any similar custom drawers or otherwise find a permanent spot in the camper trailer for it and buy another that will fit. Again great fridge can't complain with performance.
