I have a new sat nav/radio/bluetooth to fit to the top but has anyone actually swapped the reverse camera/data screen to the bottom using the after market kits?

Yep, done many of them. Also moved the factory reverse camera feed to the new headunit and fitted a second reverse camera pointing to the tow ball for a customer and forced that to come up on the factory screen which was now situated below.
