Is a suspension upgrade required when fitting steel bullbar on a new 2015 150 GXL?

      Ive posted this before but i'll put some maths here as well Fell free anyone to correct.
      The ARB Bullbar is what 55kg? (hard to find the exact numbers), the parts you cut off and remove to add the bar weight ~15kg. You are only really adding 40kg to the stock car. The stock Toyota alloy is 25kg? When Toyota fit the alloy they do not upgrade the shocks from my understanding? and probably don't cut and remove as much of the car to install it. So in real terms you are only adding maximum ~30kg over someone that has a Toyota Alloy bullbar. I'm pretty sure the shocks should have that kind of tolerance.

        Ive got an ARB bull bar and winch initially with standard suspension and it was ok but dived a lot under brakes and swayed a lot in change of direction. I then got an OME 30 mm lift and it is much nicer to drive, dives a lot less and feels more stable at change of direction. So do you "need it" Id say no is it better to have it Id say yes, just my opinion.

          I think if your getting a steel bull bar AND a winch you would need to look at a suspension upgrade for sure. I think a winch with wire is 50kg? so going on maths above your adding an easy 80kg over a stock Prado with stock alloy bar.
          I think just the bull bar is fine without a suspension upgrade as the additional weight is minimal, but if you going to add the bull bar AND winch AND/OR dual battery you should be looking to upgrade the suspension for a better ride.

            My winch is 27kg's but the mass is right at the front of the car and not over the wheels.
            There was a very noticeable change in the handling before and after fitting the winch on the stock suspension.

              Hi All, So I picked up my 150 from ARB a few hours ago after fitting the OME suspension and lift, WOW what a difference! the ride feels so so much better! Ive driven it only about 15km after the modification but I simply love It. The lift was 30mm.

                  ARB had mistakenly ordered the wrong bar, they had ordered the non facelift bar, will be fitting it next week, also ordered the ARB intensity spot and spread combo, which will go on the same time.
