I apologise for that mistake guys - often we can have some conflicting data between vehicle fitters. Thanks for keeping us honest.

Hey amts,
I've attached an image from this morning comparing the RLCP legs and the Backbone. I apologise for not including a ruler in the photo. Although we may disagree on the height variation, I hope we can agree that the Backbone is a lower profile system.
If you guys have any other concerns, please let rip - It's important for us to hear all the negatives so we can improve your experience with the gear you're spending hard earned on.

The RLCP leg in the picture is the Front Right pad from the RLCP23 kit which is the designated kit for the Prado 150. It's resting against the Front mounting point of the RTPB1 Backbone.

Hi guys, just ordered the 2136?x1236? Platform with the backbone mount, from the 4x4 show in Queanbeyan, with extras it set me back $1500.. Extras included 6 eye bolts, 2 sets of pick up kits, gas bottle holder, spare tyre hold down strap, and awning brackets.. Think that was all.. Saved $300.. Been waiting for the show, to make my purchase.. Was thinking it maybe a little noisey, but we will see.. I'm happy! Didn't really like the sx mounts? One that clamp on the rails.. Don't want to be in middle of no where and have something like that fail.. Just prefer peace of mind.. Personal thing eh.. Have been studying all the forums on the subject, for the past few months, so much stuff to consider, mind boggling... You guys all helped... Cheers O dog

Hey lads , I've fitted the backbone mounts with 2136x1236 platform. Pretty stoked with it .
As to answer some questions about wind and straps . Wind noise is noticeable but only if your pushing into the wind no different to any other roof rack really. And as for strapping down gear , the backbone mounts have circle cuts outs along the length of the mounts, what I do is just attach your strap in to the cut out this eliminating having to go under. And for washing The roof I have just bought a flat mop with a swivel head allowing it to go 90deg and this works fine .
Hope this helps .
Cheers
Wolf
