False Floor after 3rd row seats removal - 2012 GXL

Hi

I have removed my 3rd row rear seats in my 2012 GXL & want to put a false floor where they were.

I have been trawling the forum and have seen mention of people doing it but was wondering if anyone had specifics in regard to the installation?

I was wondering if folks had any experience raising it above the loom, mounting to existing bolts & filling in the vertical gaps left from on the wings?

I mounted my drawers using the existing bolt locations for the seats, theyre an M10x1.25 I think...I'd have to check. I think I ended up using 50mm bolts.
I used offcuts (glued and screwed together to get the right height) to pack the drawers off the electricals on the floor pan.

Have a look at my build as well. I used some timber across the false floor to level the floor up and clear the wiring.

Essentially I drew a central line and then made a grid of that to the edges and transferred these dimensions to the board. I would go for a better quality ply next time, perhaps a piece of form board. I went lighter to save weight but the ply was not flat and needed a lot of work to stiffen it and get it right.

Don't go with the formwork ply. Its what I used because it was cheaper than structual but its made using formaldahyde or something similar and its hard to get rid of the smell especially if the cars been closed up for a while.

I read that ORS make a false floor for the 150 series Prado. See previous posts on this.
