  • Do I have Lockers?

    Hi all,
    I have just purchased a 2010 150 series, woohoo!
    It has the following installed-
    • ARB colour coded bar and side rails
    • After market exhaust system
    • King Springs
    • Toughdog Shocks


    My question is, if some went to this great expense to add these items, how would I know if they added a diff-locker of sorts?

    What would I look for to determine this?

    There would be a switch on the panel saying front or rear lockers and a compressor in the engine compartment.

      What if the previous owner had striped what they could take and left behind what they couldn't such as the above list. What if they took the compressor (if it were air) and anything else that one would want to keep. leaving behind the locker in the box... (so to speak).

      How else would I be able to tell?

      Not having seen a diff with a locker, is there anything different to look for?

          Are there any wires or airlines running into the differentials?

            if it had lockers, they would have advertised that the vehicle had them installed to get a better sale price!

              There are 3 different kinds of lockers - electric, air and auto. Auto ones would have no visible evidence, but air and electric should be pretty easy to spot by getting under the car.

                That's true. You can tell you have auto lockers by the people staring at your car wondering what is about to fall off.

                      Thanks boys, i checked it out and i was dreaming. The sales manager didnt even no of the after market suspension system. It was worth asking cause now i know...

                        Reminds me of a mates Patrol, he bought it around to show me straight from a dealer and I noticed the air lines under the bonnet. After a closer look and some testing we found out it had twin ARBs and someone had just taken out the wiring and compressor.
