Had a brand new major brand bullbar fitted yesterday by their workshop. Picked up the vehicle after dark, in the rain, so wasn't able to do a full visual inspection. That time I had at the workshop was basically spent having the operation of the winch explained (never had one before).
Did a short 200k trip around Sydney today and did a thorough inspection when I got home. Checking the bullbar attachment to the chassis on the pax side was fine, two bolts where I expected them. On the drivers side it was a little different, only one bolt and an empty, slightly misaligned hole! One conclusion is that the mechanic couldn't align the two holes so didn't bother with properly securing it!
Here's the pics. I doubt if the engineering specs for the bar allow for an optional three main attachment bolts only, or am I missing something here.
A call to the shop will be one of the first things I do Monday morning.
