  • Which size Pioneer platform?

Looking at fitting a Rhino Pioneer platform to my 2012 Altitude. The Altitude has the moon roof like the Kakadu. Have asked local Rhino dealers about any issues getting the 1800mm long platform with the moon roof but got no joy.

The 1800 looks like it will extend over the moon roof whilst the 1500 won't. I'm looking to attach to the factory rails so I don't think the 1800 will interfere with the moon roof retracting.

The main reason for the platform will be to carry a second spare tyre, shovel and to fit a led light bar to the front of the platform. ( I understand that the off road carrying capacity of the platform is heavily reduced compared to on road, hence why the second spare will just about use up the recommended capacity).

I'm also concerned that an led light bar fitted to the 1800 may cause too much light spill over the front windscreen compared to if it was fitted to the 1500.

Has anybody with a pioneer platform with a moon roof got any recommendations or issues with the size of platform they have fitted?

Getting the 1500 on my Kakadu in within the next week or so. I wasn't happy covering the moon roof. Not much point having it if you're going to be looking up at a rack through it. Will put up some pics for you when done if you like

Thanks guys... Read the thread but there isn't much on platforms with the moon roof. It looks like the 1928 will cover the moon roof. Not interested in tents. Seems like opinion is quite divided on the 1500 vs 1900. Anybody got experience with light spill from a led bar on the front of the platform. At last years 4wd show in Adelade, the Rhino guy had his 150 GXL on display. Had a light bar on but wasn't connected. Said it was only for display at the shows. He said light spill s bad. I'm thinking this might be less on the shorter platform.

If the light bar LEDs are all spots with a narrow beam, there will be minimal light spill onto the bonnet. A curved light bar will help to fan out the spot beam a bit more.
