Brake Controller

Hi All
I'm new to this forum and this question may have been asked before but, I take delivery of a New Toyota Prado GXL in December and will need to fit a brake controller to it.
I do have a Tekonsha p3 fitted to my 2007 Falcon and found it to be very good.
In the Prado, I'm a bit concerned about fitting this type of controller because of the knee airbags, so I'm leaning more towards one like the Hyman Reese or the Redarc Elite which have the remote heads.

Has anyone fitted either one of these units to their Prado, if so what do you think of them or is there a better one.

I'll be using the Prado for towing a caravan.

Not sure if it has changed, but when I was looking the Redarc was a fixed rate that didn't include the motion sensing that the P3 has. I've been using the P3 for 5 years in the Prado with no problems.

I have a towpro and very happy with it. Have a search using google and "pradopoint+brake+controller" or "pradopoint+Towpro"

I was reluctant to go near the knee airbag and honestly the remote head of the towpro is an easy install.

Edit: Redarc used to have a preset system where you changed the braking effort by adjusting the amount of preset. Sine mid 2015 Redarc have the Towpro and Towpro elite which are both the old style preset system and a proportional controller. That's what I have been using since this time last year. I would recommend the Towpro but not the old manual Redarc units.

The redarc tow pro has inertia based or manual set braking.
Have one fitted in our Amaroc we use to tow the race cars. Awesome unit.

Would highly recommend.

You only have the one knob on dash and all else is hidden away.

Your nominated location is Australia, a big f*@#*^g country. At least nominate your state, as NSW regs for towing are different to other states.

After more research I have decided on the Resarc Pro Elite, as this unit seems to be recommended a fair bit on the internet.

I went with the tow pro elite, all good so far. Very happy with looks as well, as all you see is the little knob which blends in seemlessly, more-or-less. Worked great on 3000km trip.
