  • Stereo compartment filler/dash compartment

    Hey people,

I have fitted an after market stereo in my 2012 150 Prado (pre face lift). I have mounted the new stereo in place of the old reverse camera screen up top. Now I need to remove my old stereo but need a filler for that space like the face lift model. I would think that it would be a like for like swap. First of all has anyone done this and second of all does anyone know where I can purchase that dash compartment module. I have done some extensive internet searching and not having much luck. Any help would be appreciated.

Please see photos attached for a clear picture of what I mean.

    Cheers

You can get a filler on ebay to re-locate the original top screen to the bottom.

      Hey mate,

I do not need that screen any more as my reverse camera goes through the new screen. I want that new filler for more storage in the console.

I went through the same thing.

No need for the tiny reverse camera.
and has little space for storage compared to all our other vehicles.

I decided to have 2 head unit... one for GPS and rear camera, also a switch for a front camera.

          Hey man,

Yeah that small reverse camera screen is pointless I think. You have done a good job. But I do not have any need for the dual screen. I def do not need s GPS where I live. Just trying to find one of those fillers the new model Prado has. Its basically just a storage compartment. I guess i might have to ring Toyota and pay an arm or something for one.

The storage compartment you are after is from the GX model

Part number: 5562060300 console box and bracket. Approx $350 from my nearest dealer. Verbel phone call... honestly I expected $180ish.
