Re: ECB & TJM & Ironman Bullbar and kaymar rear bar

Guys i was going to upload some TJM pics but sprocket has pulled up the website for you.

However here are some kaymar bar shots only taken on my phone.

They also advised that in about 6 weeks their will be a new 120 bar complete with the front bash plate replacement, they advised at this stage the front bash plate will come with the bar not as a seperate item which sucks for us that have the other bash plate and don't need a new bar.
The plate i am referring to replaces the factory item with the front grills, refer to my dodgy picture.

Just for interest sake the bar on display at the show.

Re: ECB & TJM & Ironman Bullbar

Well, I ordered a bullbar to be fitted when I ordered my new Prado. As the dealshipship couldn't get a genuine Toyota bar they asked if they could fit a TJM bar. After advise I agreed.
I picked it up and to my shock an ECB Alloy bar had been fitted. I was going to drive from Melbourne to Brisbane the next morning so I thought we will see if it would grow on me. Half way to Sydney on the Hume, the sun started to shine and I observed the new bullbar was bouncing. At the ealiest convenience I stopped to check it out. It appeared tight but the bouncing continued for the rest of the journey.
By the time I got back to Melbourne (4000km later) this bar was driving me mad. I called the dealship who agreed to swap the bar for a TJM one.
Next day, I went out for lunch with a colleague and we heard a rubbing noise coming from the near side wheel when coming out of a parking space. Once we got back to work he got out to see where this noise was coming from.
He soon found that the inner arch liner was rubbing on the tyre. I looked at this and it was obvious when they fitted the ECB bar at TJM they had incorrectly cut the inner guard and decided in their wisdom to cover their mistake by tieing the guard in place using cable ties.
Following this find I called the dealship and I am having a ARB bar fitted this week.
I bit of advise, check out the installation of all the fitters and never let TJM fit your bar they are cowboys, never fit an ECB bar they dont only look crap but are crap . Wish me luck with the ARB

          Hi Warren

I have said this before but it is advisable to take some time and have a look at the workshop and talk to the fitters. Most of these 4WD outlets are franchises, look at Lissted's fitting of an ARB bar and mine (photo on ARB Sahara Bar thread).
