Towbar ball weight

I have been lookinf through all the specs and I can find the towing capacity but no info on ball weight.

If anyone knows, can you let me know.

Also, do you think the ball weight will be greater on the SWB since the towing capacity is higher?

Adam,
The towball weight is general 10 % on the ball.
for the LWB towing is 2500KG then the max weight on thr ball is 250KG.
On the SWB is 3000kg towing therefore 300kg on the ball .

I don't think you can always assume that nowdays. I was looking around and there are plenty of vehicles now with a 2500 tow capacity but only 180 ball weight.

The ball weight on the Prado 120 is 250kg
Don't know what the new one is

You can't assume anything in regard to towbars and weights - to me it doesn't make sense that the shorter, lighter, three door isn't going to get pushed around as much by a three tonne caravan as the heavier five door which is only rated at two and a half. if someone already has one with a tow bar there should be a plate on it stating the tow ball weight.

That's strange because on the actual tow bar it says 250kgs.

I can confirm a 3 door is 300 kg ball weight I have a genuine towbar in my garage awaiting the delivery of my 3 x door.
