So Brains, just so that people know exactly what this is all about, if you don't mind would you explain exactly what is it that TJM Brendale do that ensures they install a snorkel professionally..because it can, and has been done been done badly elsewhere.

I paid $450 for mine supply only. I fiitted it myself as I have done with all of my others. I could not bring myself to let some knuckle dragger cut holes in my brand new Prado.

FYI the Airtec snorkel is a great setup on the outside. The inner connection however is a piece of crap. Really hard to get to fit right because there is very little space between the inner and outer guard. The clamping area from the inner to outer snorkel is pretty ordinary so you really need to spend alot of time getting it to seal right. IMO i reckon the outer snorkel could have come forward a couple of inches on the guard and made the job a whole lot better.

TJM Brendale did my Snorkel and diff breathers after they were recommended to me by others and I must say that their attention to detail was exceptional.
Everything was done professional and even the pillar bracket is riveted and not just quickly screwed on.

I can fault them, and neither can others who have had work done by them.

It all comes down to attention to detail. They take care, do the job right, and therefore people like me recommend them and they get good referrals and repeat customers. Its not rocket science!

Go see TJM Brendale, you will not be disappointed.

        Cheers,

        Jeff

In some regards it is harder than rocket science.....(son in law is a Rocket Scientist, and he DEFINATLEY can't install a snorkel)...

Drilling correctly, applying effective rust protection, application of correct sealant, sealing the airbox dust/water outlet, attaching the snorkel to the A pillar, not drilling or activating the A pillar airbag, not cracking the windscreen...blah blah...I would definately would not trust a Rocket Scientist to fit my snorkel.

BUT...the design of a snorkel is very much right up the alley of Rocket Scientist....aerodynamics, fluid dynamics, airflow analysis, airpressures, air/water separation, material science, injection moulding, UV stabilisation...right up their alley!

            Brogers,

After meeting and getting to know Darren, the store owner, his experience, personal standards, his attention to detail, Customer service and his workshop practices are to be commended. I too have a high expectation of work that I am paying a professional to complete and would expect it to be completed at an extremely high standard especially if I am paying an industry professional to complete it. In this day and age someone that stands behind the work they do is sometimes rare and I know that the team at TJM Brendale take pride in the work they complete. I have witnessed the checking of work completed by Darren personally or his senior staff. I have previously had work completed at other establishments and nothing irritates me more than having to continually take a vehicle back to have work completed to the standard it should have been completed the first time. I have also experienced workshops where they don't want to know you after you have paid.

We have had work completed by TJM Brendale, have work booked in for next year for our vehicles and have recommended them to a number of family and friends who have also had their installations carried out at TJM Brendale. Everyone that I have sent or recommended has also experienced their high level of workmanship and service.

For example TJM Brendale uses a countersunk pop rivet to attach the top snorkel bracket to the A pillar instead of the screws that eventually fall out. This attention to detail and the fact that they have come up with a better option is one of the reasons why I personally use them for work to my vehicle.

                  i'll second that Paul.

to tell you the truth, i have always liked the look of the ARB bars better. So becuase of that i ended getting some other gear
installed at the same time. such as the ARB underbody protection and a HR towbar.
NOW.... if i had know that i ended up having to go back twice for them forgetting to reconnect the reverse sensors and then back again
to reconnect the front right blinker connections...... i wouldn't of bothered going there.

Since joining PP, i have been seeing how much Paul ( Brains ) and Rob ( Hutch ) have highly recommended the team @ TJM Brendale
so i thought i'd go and have a chat to them as they are only in the next street from where i work.

Since then, i have had them install the recovery points, and the Couplertec elec. rust protection........
they are a very knowledgeable bunch !!!!! very helpful and very happy to explain things to me in detail.

i know have Yoda ( the 150 ) booked in for a lift kit and diffman breathers, who knows..... i might even get the snorkel
                  done now

their workmanship is second to none !!!!

i won't be having anyelse touching my beloved 150 from now on !!!!

We all do make these decisions at one point or another, this is what we buy these cars for, 4Wdriving not driving the kids to soccer (me anyway), no major damage means the 4WD met its design spec.

An interesting aside is I took my car in for the 6 months service and the dealer complained about the mud on the engine and underneath the car as I hadn't had a chance to wash it since the Duck Ck Rd trip on Sunday.

Too bad, so sad Mr Dealer it is a 4WD!!

                    Regards, Richo.

                      • I've just ordered an Airtec (TJM) snorkel (and lift kit) as part of their EOFY sale. The snork is 15% off parts and the suspension is 20% off I think.

Have a look on the websites.
