The bar looks good. Does the colour match well, and are they the standard fog lights? Have you boosted the suspension to take the extra weight?

The silver looks good too, hard to choose between yours and Richoson's white bar.

Richo that white on white looks fantastic, probably the best colour combo ive seen so far. Are there any problems with glare off the bar ?

          Hi Hunjy

I haven't noticed any significant glare, I just fitted the IPF 900's tonight so it'll be a drive down the nearest country road to see if there is any further glare. In the position I have the seat you can only just see the top of the bar anyway. And yea I'm really happy with the look, the bar does move a little as Derek from ABR has commented, not enough to worry about.

          Regards, Richo.

              Re: Arb sahara bar

              Hi Caleb,

Pilbara Motor Group have a fitout workshop in Perth so if the pictured car was purchased with any extra add ons then they do that in Perth prior to sending it up (cheaper labour rates, etc). Not that it will help you seeing you need it done up here as an after market add on. The only thing I could recommend is to specify your acceptable margin of error (ie even spacing both sides) prior to the work being done.

              Cheers,
              Leigh

                ARB Sahara versus Deluxe bar???

I would like to throw this question out there for any advice.
My first ever Prado is on order. After advice on another part of this site, I decided not to go for the Toyota alloy bull bar ( which I think looks quite ugly compared with the alloy for the 120) but will now go for the steel one probably from ARB. My vehicle is also used for work in my marketing job however and needs to look good for customers as well as being great for my holiday travels. Having looked at ARB's Deluxe bar and their Sahara bar, I think the Sahara is the best looker but is it just as good if I hit something? I am guessing even the steel Sahara is better than the full alloy that Toyota makes but can anybody give me their thoughts or experiences with either the Deluxe or the Sahara? It would much appreciated!

                  Re: Arb sahara bar

I just picked up the car from ARB with the new Bar Fitted. I ordered the Bar at the Caravan show back in March and had been waiting and waiting. I went with the Deluxe combination bar and the fitting and colour matching (in Silver) is almost perfect) The alignment is a bit off as the bar is higher on the passenger side by 14mm. They have promised to fix this when I get the winch fitted later. The shadows mentioned in other parts of PP are obvious but I think I have made them worse with the Hella 2000 driving lights as they are contributing to the shadow area quite a lot.

Go the sahara it is a great looking bar for a classy car, the important thing is the radiator area is still protected, that would be the difference between driving and walking home, if u lose a headlight you will still get home. My 2 cents.

Had the Deluxe bar fitted yesterday to my GXL. looks good except,,,,,,,why doesn't ARB design the bar to take the original fog lights?

Seems they want $140 for a pair of their inferior fog lights on top of the bar price, something they neglected to tell me at the time of ordering the bar

What does everyone else do with the original foggies

I used them most mornings up here in Mansfield

wonder if the standard foggies fit into the GX bumper? might be able to sell them onto a GX owner.

Does anyone know if the GX is set up (electrically speaking) to accept the fog lamps? if so, is there a switch inside the GX already, or would I need to get one?

                            Hi

I retrieved the surrounds and lights from my GXL when they fitted my bar and they are available. I would think that like most cars they use a standard wiring loom and there will be plugs for the lights behind the bumper and dash on all models. As for the switch it is on the light stalk so you would probably have to fit a separate switch.

                            Regards, Richo.

By the look of the photos Derek has supplied it appears that the deluxe bars do not have recovery points either side to attach bow shackles as other ARB bars used to have underneath or at least mine did on the 80 series. Is this right? I know there are cut outs for high lift jack lifting but it would be a bugger if there are no points to attach a shackle to.
Can anyone let me know please my bar shouldn't be too far away I hope.
                              thanks

The factory points are very strong and do not need to be replaced. (can't be replaced)
I haven't seen the factory points on the 150, so I may be speaking totally out of turn here, and if I am I apologise, but I don't think any 'factory' points (unless you own a Hummer H3) are suitable for use in a recovery as they are welded on. Don't confuse a tie down point with a rated recovery point.
