you do not want something that will bend.. part of the idea of the steps offroad should be to protect your sills from damage as well. a solid step would be much better.
i can tell you, that if you have already had to jump on them to straighten them out, then you most probably have pulled the nutserts through the aluminum brackets. a few more times and yours will look like mine anyway. also, i wouldn't want anyone standing on them with the brackets that way - chances are they will fall right off and hurt someone.
a solid step is the way to go.
i've had toyota quote $1500 a side to replace them.
the side rails will be tucked away under the guard, and not connect to the step at all, same as in the 200 series
