Accessory tracks on boot floor and third row

Evening all.

I'm not very involved in posting on PP so I do apologise in advance for the typical newb post.

We've had our 150 Kakadu for a couple of years now which has served us incredibly well. One mystery I've never solved though is what the tracks in the cargo space are for.

After searching with no real results, can anyone confirm what these are for, and is there a genuine accessory that I'm missing out on?

I seem to remember reading somewhere (maybe PP but not sure) they are for cargo hook/tie down points that are an overseas option. Not available in Australia.

You can mount tie down rings into them I believe.

I've used them before for subaru bits, and also toyota bits. Expensive though.. especially once you add postage, so you'd better REALLY want something. (which I do sometimes..hehe)
They're fast and efficient though, just like you'd expect from Japan.

Oh, do a quick search. I'm sure someone not too long ago said that they were using some eye bolts from a rhino rack or similar, with a larger washer on the back, and it worked for them.
That's gotta be cheaper than $500+ from Japan :O

There was a thread years ago about this when the $A was almost equal to the $US.
At the time I bought my tie-down hooks from Pelican Parts as suggested in that thread - https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...-7-146-024-BOE
These are very good, but a tad expensive now.
A quick search on Fleabay turned these - https://www.ebay.com/p/BMW-OEM-X5-Tr...024/1628330722 - used but at $60 for 4 delivered IMO well worthwhile.
