I purchased a Lightforce UHF microphone panel which fits into the space for the switch blanks. It has a black wire and red wire for illumination purposes. The instructions say:
"For the LED illumination to function connect the black wire to negative point and the red wire (12 volts) to the dash light circuit or input power from the UHF radio"
Being the electrical retard that I am, it would be much appreciated if someone can explain please what is meant by "black wire to negative point"?
Also, given I have wired the uhf direct to the battery, connecting the red wire to the power for it wont work. Can I piggy back off switches next to it? I have located the microphone outlet in the panel just above the console drink holder (ie net to the 4H 4L dial)
