CD Player replacement

Hi all,

Just wondering if there are any fascia kits/any one has a mock up for replacing the CD payer in a 150 series Kakadu. My dad has a 2010 Kakadu and wanted to replace the headunit, but of course that comes with way more problems than it fixes.

So I'm looking for an option that might replace the CD player as its' never used.
Main points
- CD player is never used
- Media screen for backseat is never used
- Looking for something with an option for navigation and possibly audio
- Happy to entertain any ideas

Hi Josh, I've just exactly this on a 2010 150 GX. After a lot of researching purchased this head unit as wanted Android as well as a volume knob (can't stand no dial in my wife's new Fortuner).

The wiring kit comes so you literally just plug it in and good to go. It takes about 20seconds to turn on, but the reverse camera works within a couple of seconds while the rest of unit is starting up.
You will need the facia kit for the Kakadu: https://www.extnix.com.au/FP9166/
If you also purchase the OBDII adaptor https://www.extnix.com.au/obd2-ii/ and load an app such as Torque Pro onto the unit you can then access all the vehicles info. It's great, I have Transmission Pan and Converter temps displayed along with a few other things like actual speed (not what the dash displays).
You can obviously install any navigation app you want on the unit, same as you would on your android phone or tablet.

Hi Lawesb, this sounds great, I have a 2010 150 GXL that would love one of these. Do you have any photos of the unit installed? What's the sound like compared to original unit?
