  • ARB Base Rack - Noisy?

    Hi Guys,
We have a 2016 GLX Prado and are hunting roof racks. We love the baserack, especially with the accessories for the jerry cans etc, but have been told they're noisy doing 110 on the highway. Can anyone confirm / deny / have a better idea?

    Thanks!

I’ve pulled the trigger on one last week, now waiting install. I expect some noise but I don’t think it will be a deal breaker. There is a wind deflector you can get.

I have one - had it about 2 weeks and with ARB base rack Light bar installed in the under rack position (no wind deflector). I would steer clear.. started off okay but has gotten progressively worse, there is a very bad metal on metal vibration now at the front on the sides where the rack sits on top of the blades.
Personally I regret not going Rhino Rack now :-(.. also ARB’s claim about super tough powder coating is rubbish.. even the smallest tap with a hard object on any edges and the powder coat simply chips away
