Hi Guys,
Ended up at the 4x4 show over the weekend and left with a GME XRS 330COB.
I’ve removed the card holder in the cubby and fitted the unit in there, run the power and mic cables and ordered the RJ11 switch for the centre console so I can connect the mic.
I had planned to mount the aerial on the pioneer platform, but have now ruled that out. Even with the Rhino bracket which allows you to drop the aerial 90 degrees I feel it’s still to high. So looked at the Kaon rear wheel mount which looks great but it’s out of stock. Also if I mount the aerial there I have a few concerns:
will the coax cable reach the cubby or can you buy an extension cable?
the aerial would be lower than the pioneer platform, which is good but will it affect the range? if so any idea by how much?
Does anyone have any other rear wheel brackets by other manufacturers and are you happy with them? My aerial is the short broom stick so feel the bracket needs to be pretty strong to hold the weight esp when off road.
Does anyone have a double bracket like the one below? What do you use the light for?
Thanks in advance for any feedback.
cheers
Troy
