I recently bought an AAWireless dongle that turns my wired Android Auto into wireless in my MY21 Kakadu. I got heartily sick of having to plug and unplug the phone all the time, and in fact the USB-C socket on the phone I had when I got the Prado broke. It would have happened anyway I suspect, but the plug/unplug cycles hastened the day.
This is for recent Prados that came with Android Auto - it's not one of those accessories that adds AA to older models that didn't come with it.

You can now buy it direct, which is what I did. Took about two weeks from China using the cheapest Flopost / Auspost option, although nearly half of that was in Oz:

Short version: It works. It's easy to set up and connects quickly. I haven't used it on long drives, but it seems stable. Everything seems to work.
Drawbacks: It won't switch to AA automatically at startup, even if you turned the vehicle off with AA enabled, as happens with wired connections. There is an option in the companion app that tries to enable this, but so far it doesn't seem to work for Prados. Also, it can get a bit flakey at startup if you were previously playing audio via AA - it tries to restart the audio but quickly stops, and the only way to restart it seems to be to skip to the next track. Neither of these are deal breakers for me, although they are slightly annoying. Hopefully they'll get fixed in a firmware upgrade, which is one advantage of AAWireless.
There is a support forum, frequented by the developers, but it mostly seems to be about beta testing:
