  • Which Phones do you have that work with blue tooth?

How about we list the phones that will and will work with the bluetooth system in our vehicles.
I have tried the Nokia 6120 which did not work.
today the Nokia E71 which worked initially but then would not reconnect.
So what works and what does not?

    Hi Crispimage
I see that you have the same high tech up to date phone as me!!!! I keep it cause its cheap to replace!! My 6120 works great, connects itself each time I get in the car. Wifes Iphone worked the same as well. I wonder why yours won't work??

iPhone works very well in mine. I had a Nokia E71 before and it was a pain in the bum as it would continually drop out. I read somewhere that Sony phones work very well in the Prado too.

Another vote for the iPhone (3Gs) here.

Although it would seem you can have it as a bluetooth phone, OR a bluetooth audio source, but not both.

The GX has the same radio as the old GXL, mine worked fine with the Nokia 6120, now works fine with the blackberry.
When you set it up it asks do what to connect automatically, did u say yes to this question, if you don't it won't connect each time, it will be in manual mode.

Really? How so? I use my phone through Bluetooth and listen to my iPhone songs though Bluetooth as well. All works very well. Im actually very surprised at the sound quality through bluetooth Only downside is having to change songs on the phone, not the steering wheel. I presume this is what you're referring too? I usually have them on shuffle anyway so not an issue for me.

              Cheers, Sam.

Re: Which Phones do you have that work with blue tooth?

My phone is a Samsung (Telstra) prepaid elcheapo clamshell for the Next G network for remote areas. I had no idea what "Bluetooth" was before I got the Prado 150. The Toyota dealer in Brisbane asked me for my phone & set the whole thing up for me at the dealership & it works a treat. If I happen to have the phone in my pocket & switched on at home, it makes a funny noise everytime my wife drives the car in or out the driveway ... I finally twigged that it was the phone linking up with the car! I've only made a couple of calls with it on the highway with no problems.

Obviously I'm not very "switched on" to this technology, so I haven't got a clue how to set my wife's prepaid phone up to the car as well as mine. Hers is also a Telstra prepaid, but I think it's an LG and is not a clamshell fold out phone.

Oh ? Hmmm, what profile did you pair it as ? 'cause when I paired it as an Audio device, phonecalls would not go through the stereo, so I paired it as a phone and that part worked fine, but playing music doesn't go through the stereo. Do I have to pair as both profiles (forgive me if that's a stupid question).

If you plug your iPhone into the USB port on the car, the steering wheel controls will control the iPod functionality on the iPhone.

I'm sure that I have the same as KM4, 'cheap' telstra pre-paid, samsung C5220 I think the model is, connects and works well, no drop outs that I have noticed. Wife has a HTC HD which also connects and works well although the reception on fringe areas is not as good as the Samsung.
Only pain is that the radio does not automatically detect and change over to the other phone getting in the vehicle, have to do it manually - would be good if you could pair both phones at the same time.

Blackberry Bold works well just the mic on the 150 series GX isn't the best. Thinking of installing a Bury Bluetooth kit so I can have the mic nearer my head. Also I can recommend their cradles http://www.celltech.net.au has some of the best prices I've seen

                            hey dave,

delete your audio pairing. delete your phone pairing. re-pair your phone. when choosing the device type, choose the 2nd option "int. audio". this will sync your iphone for both phone and ipod purposes through bluetooth.
