    iPhone handsfree and audio streaming

Re Dave's iPhone post I just experienced the same. I can use the handsfree phone function but after pairing for audio streaming that functionality is lost. So only handsfree works OR streaming and requires pairing each time. I could use the USB cable but kinda like the Bluetooth streaming capability. Any tips to make this work will be welcome

I am looking for a mobile that has the following attributes
      1. Has the Blue Tick
      2. Bluetooth with speed dial
      3. Can be used as a modem to connect to internet to use Telstra browser Pack

My current zte 160 has all these except speed dial, and is nearing its use by date.

      Thanks

          Hi Pedro

Try the Samsung range, they have some great phones, all you need to do is find a 21yr old that wants to help in a Telstra shop, good luck with that.

Has anyone been able to transfer contacts from an iPhone yet via Bluetooth ? I am yet to try business cards .vcf ??? Im wondering if the radio stores the contacts for each phone or stores them for all phones ? If it is all I could transfer my google based contacts via a non iPhone. I will play with this a little.

Hey Pedro. I would recommend the Motorola Defy. They work great with the Toyota Bluetooth, bluetick approved and can be used as a tethered modem via bluetooth or USB. They are also supposedly water-resist, dust proof, etc. One of the other lads from work just got one from Telstra as a pre-paid for $299.

I have the 150 Kakadu and I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 (Android) fully paired with the in car head unit. Works a treat, even tells me the state of the phone charge and signal. However, whilst I was able to download all my contacts from the phone to the car my mate with a VX 150 and and Iphone was not able to do this. Dealer advised not possible to transfer contacts with Iphone as they do not talk to the car unit. Something to do with Apples secrecy.

Has anyone actually been able to 'pair' a new iPhone 4S to the 150's Bluetooth yet? My previous Palm Treo and my wife's iphone 3 worked worked well.

Just bought the new phone and supposedly 'paired' it but I'm finding it receives calls then drops out and reverts back to the radio and ditto with outgoing calls. Will not stay connected.

iPhone chat sites are saying it's an issue with new operating system but apparently Apple are suggesting it's an issue with Bluetooth firmware in car radios. Would appear to be not just a Prado / Toyota issue.

                  Any thoughts anyone??

                    Nokia E55 (now retired)

HTC One V. Phone and audio streaming both work fine.

delete your audio pairing. delete your phone pairing. re-pair your phone. when choosing the device type, choose the 2nd option "int. audio". this will sync your iphone for both phone and ipod purposes through bluetooth.

I am really struggling with my Bluetooth
I had it hooked up so I could do phone calls, but after stuffing around with it ( no idea what I did ) and getting music playing via Bluetooth, I can no longer get phone Bluetooth to work.
Can anybody explain how to choose the device type when pairing ?
The only options I seem to be able to change are 2 setting when paired either "from car" or "from phone"
Have tried multiple times to de-link the connection, restart phone etc.
Starting to get really frustrated with it.
                            I have a late 2012 GXL.
Any help would be super awesome

I accidentally came across this when I was pairing an ipad just for sound and a phone. If you're getting the from car or from phone messages, you're in the 'BTA setup' menu, not the 'Phone Setup' menu. If you select your phone from the 'Phone Setup' menu, you should have no problems and it won't ask about the from car or from phone bit.

We run our iPhone 4S and 5 with bt perfectly but use the USB port at the same time for music, keeps them charged up and can use the steering controls and random function on the radio screen. When the DVD player goes in will lose the steering function but at least the controls will be at a proper height and not down behind the shifter
