    Thanks for the info mate

You have the yellow recovery hooks yes Jasen? If so they are Roadsafe hooks sold by RoadRunner, that's who I sourced my pair from. With the bash plates I think you will find at least the radiator one attaches to the bar, well at least my TJM one does.

    Hi Jas

I'm seriously considering a smartbar for my 150VX - currently have a Brown Davis Bash Plate fitted.
When fitting yours did you notice a) if it will work in with underbody protection, and b) is there compatability with recovery hooks.

    Thanks

    Trev

Missed this one!! That explains why I have a strange urge to wear spandex under my clothes and tie a soft pink jumper around my neck when I jump in my Prado!!!

Thanks for the info! $750 is a good price too if you can get it. I assume it was 2nd hand?

I've got a GX Jansen, so only the fog lights to slide in. Do the indicators in the bar come standard? How long did it take you, less the wiring? And how did you cut the bumper? Ie what tool?

Anyone in Sydney got a better price than the $1680. And has anyone fitted one themselves?

Saw one of these the other day, was't sure it was a prado at first. Deffinitly don't see a lot of them. But to each their own.

Had my black smartbar and safari snorkel fitted on Friday.

I'm really happy with the result.
Not only did OL at Penrith do a great job, but it looks good too.

Not happy with the white UHF antenna, but I can easily change that when I get around to it.

I think bullbars are like women; the ugly ones do a better job and its better with the lights off![/QUOTE]

Great thread and well done Jasen. I too have agonised for over 2 years re the best looking and practical bar for me.

your photos and cool headedness in the face of the "stick pokers" has won me , I will be booking my bus in this week for a black smart bar.

as I also have an airtec snorkel, I now know exactly what the combination will look like. Thanks again for the info
