Had my car in for its 10K service last week and was fed some dribble that they hadnt heard any faults with the mudflaps. They did a search on toyotas warranty site and said they found no reports on fix. I was told that they need some number for the fault to identify the fix. Has anyone heard this, or aware of the number they were referring to?

      Hi Folks

Still very happy with my Gravel Rush mud flaps (27'000ks off road 20'000k's), no stone chips and cleaner than the 120's as well.

      Regards, Richo.

I agree Richo. Couldn't be bothered mucking about fighting with dealers over mudflaps that I feel would still be inadequate. Had a long wait for my GR's but after just returning from about 500km of dirt roads (Gibb), found them to offer excellent protection. Cleaned my car today and found quite a bit of rock damage to the rear of the side steps - go figure, that's the front of the wheel arch!

I asked Pilbara Toyota here in Port Hedland about the replacement flaps. No probs he said but i wont be able to get them til August. after looking at the other options, including Gravel Rush, I decided to grab some skirt rubber from the conveyor guys at work. Cut out a template which is also wider and longer than the standard flaps are. I designed the flaps to come out wider from the point where the standard flap protrudes from the guard, they probably come out 20mm wider and are about 100mm longer in preparation for the suspension lift. I used the special epoxy glue the belt guys use for splicing conveyor belts. I reckon after the mod I wont bother with the replacement flaps from Toyota, as I know a few blokes are still suffering gravel rash once a 50mm lift is installed. I wasn't going to fork over $500 for Gravel rush mudflaps either. I did have to carve off the lip from around the standard mudflaps so the extensions would sit flush once glued. Overall pretty happy with the result, no more gravel rash and didn't have to pay rediculous prices for some rubber flap.

Well, called my nearest Toyota dealer and spoke to him about the mudflap issue as well as my first "complimentary" 1000km checkup.
As expected, he had never heard of the problem or the replacement flaps.....so I will chase up other options.
Interstingly he stated the 1000km checkup was just that, a 10 minute look over and not neccessary if I didn't wish to book it in.

Gotta love the great Toyota service!! I wont go back there again.

Just returned after a trip from Sydney to Melbourne, to Lake Eyre and back. Tarred road, dirt and stone roads and mud roads. Gravel Rush mud flaps all round and NO stone chips.

                    Yowie.

Had my 20K service two days back and asked the dealer about the mudflaps. He said they received the bulletin stating they will be new mudflaps coming but currently no stock. They are waiting for the stock and will let me know when they arrive for a changeover.

                      Cheers,
