How to remove mudguard plastic clipS

In my search for a really annoying rattle I want to remove the plastic mudguard under the right fender. It is held in place by screws and some black plastic clips with holes in the middle. I can't work out the trick to removing these without breaking them, and so what's the trick?

In my search for a really annoying rattle I want to remove the plastic mudguard under the right fender. It is held in place by screws and some black plastic clips with holes in the middle. I can't work out the trick to removing these without breaking them, and so what's the trick?

Buy new ones first there cheap because you have to rip the old ones out with pliers.
