  • Prado Mudflaps

Just traded a 2010 for a 2012 GXL - perhaps Toyota does read this forum as my new Prado has mudflaps that are about 75mm longer than my previous Prado. So far no mud or dirt from front tyres onto side-step and back looks good.

had my new 150 off road the other day and the only thing that draged on the ground was the bloody mud flaps, they should be shorter. Who wants to sign a petition to shorten the mudflaps again.

Scratched mudflap vs body and trailer damage due to stones etc... I'll settle for scratched plastic.

I guess this proves that you can't please everyone

don't take me seriesly, have a look at my 90s build thread, the mudflaps on my 90 got ripped off on a track one day, scatched mudflaps couldn't mean any less to me.
I was just trying to get a bite, cant belive all the fuss the short mudflaps created, seriesly if I wanted to spend that much money on a car and worry about chips and scrathes when I went off road I would of brought a V8 falcon not a prado.

but i guess if anyone really wants to swap there short ones, maybe they wont get ripped off in big rutts like on my 90, I'd consider it.

Check with Toyota .. my understanding is that original size mudflaps are still offered as a buyable item

The longer mudflaps should have an automatic retraction system so they don't get scratched on uneven ground.

They should also have an automatic self cleaning system.

I can't believe Toyotas lack of attention to detail on these items.
