  • Removing headlight / grill

Does anyone know how to remove the front passenger side headlight on a 150 series. I have removed the full width cover strip which runs across the entire front. The two screws in the top of the light, one which is under the rubber side strip were easy to find but I cannot see anything else holding it in. It seems to be attached somehow to the grill but I cannot see how. There also appears to be some sort of attachment up onto the front of the mudguard. It also appears to slip into slots along the bottom. The whole reason for this is two fold. First, when bought it a couple of months ago I knew it had been in a minor dingle. The very front of the passenger side mudguard is bent slightly down at the pointy bit in the corner where it meets the bumper. I want to have a go at pushing it up and hopefully straightening it. Hence the light needs to come off. Secondly as a result of the dingle there is a plastic moulding that runs vertically down the front between the light and the radiator / grill, about 40 cm high which has been snapped about half way up. It attaches at the top where the bumper, grill and light meet. I would like to replace it as it seems to be some sort of protection for the radiator from stones etc coming in from the side wheel arch. Any suggestions?

I fitted my new TJM bullbar last week so I can tell ya there is another bolt which goes in horizontally on the outer edge. Unfortunately for you the bolt is in behind the bumper so the bumper will have to come off. There are also 2 clips on the inner edge of the light in behind the grill. They dont actually clip to the grill, they clip to a support panel. Access to them is easier if you remove the grill.

The bumper really isnt that hard to get off and neither is the grill.

If you get really stuck I've still got the TJM fitting instructions which may help you out. I might be able to scan them and PM them to you. Let me know.

Great to know, thanks..... May be a good excuse to get that bullbar and get it all done in the same opp. But in the meantime if you could pm those plans it'd be much appreciated. Cheers, Chatty.
