  • Rear door seat belt bolt size?

We fully loaded our car today for a 8 week trip. While doing so I unclipped the rear blank top covers of the 3rd row seat belts which our GX never had and found chassis nuts there which I would like to attach eye bolts for fastening to. Does anyone know the size of that bolt? Tried M10 and M12 but it is between those sizes. I only have tomorrow left to try and get it, so the Toyota dealer will not be open.
The part# is 90105-11041 and a diagram is found here: http://japan-parts.eu/toyota/gr/2014...t/4#9010511041
    Thanks.

What pitch thread are you using to test these? they are likely fine pitch or 1.25 bolts, most commonly you will find metric bolts in 1.5 pitch. Never heard of a metric size between m10 and m12.

There is such an animal as M11 but it is far from common. From memory they are M12x1.25. M10 goes in without any need to twist it?

I've found many of the bolts relating to seats and seat belts in the Prado 150 are fine pitch (1.25) instead of the more common 1.5.

I tried the M10 and M12 screws I had at hand from various parts of the vehicle. The M10 went in just by wiggling it. The M12 feels a touch wide and doesn't catch at all. Wasn't a fine thread though. I will try to find a M12x1.25 tomorrow morning.

The bolts that hold the tow point to the chassis on the left rear will be 12x1.25 if you want to try one of those.

I'm pretty sure there is a standard that relates to seat belt bolt sizes and even though every other bolt in the car is metric the seat belt ones are 7/16 UNF or at least that's how it has been in most vehicles I've worked on.

I was doing some work on my 79 cruiser this morning and had a look at the seat belt bolt which I had to remove, they were 12 x 1.25mm

I went to Repco today and a most helpful staff member there got me out a M12x1.25 and a M10x1.125 bolt. Both did not fit. So maybe the 7/16 UNF is correct. As my time is up I will have no chance to test it for a while. Might have a chance to pick one up in Darwin on the way through before hitting Tanami Road.

I doubt it is UNF. Maybe 1mm pitch. I will have a look tomorrow if I get a chance. 7/16 UNF will screw into M12 fine thread but not vice versa.

There is a possibility it could be a 11mm x 1.25 This is an odd size that is used for such critical components like seat belts to prevent the use of lower grade bolts.
