  • Scrub bars for outback touring

    G'day all,
Looking for peoples opinions/experience with scrub bars on the 150. I'm in 2 minds if I need them or not considering I don't do any scrub bashing. I do require new side steps though as a check rock has broken the standard plastic ones.
Here is my thinking for scrub bars/step combo vs. just steps
    Pros:
    - Extra side protection
    - They look cool
    - Stronger?

    Cons:
    - Cost $200 more than steps
    - Stick out far from guards (ARB model)
    - Weight vs steps alone.

I'm trying to consider weight a little. I ran my car over a weighbridge today and got 2740kg with 1/4 tank fuel.

    Can anyone else weigh in?

I had the front returns (steps only) on my ARB sidesteps, got caught up on a big rock and bent it backwards. I've now replaced then with scrub bars to hopefully avoid further damage.
    150 with stuff bolted on!
