I’m looking at winches for our 150 (2019). What is the frame of the Prado rated for? I understand that its 9500. If so, it seems there’s no sense in going for a 12000. ... or am I looking at it wrong? Cheers.

Not sure the rating for a 150, but the 120 is 9500. Hard question to answer about the 12,000 pound winch, but here is my two cents worth. Each layer of cable on your winch drum will reduce the pulling power. I guess using a double line pull wouldl also reduce the strain on the winch (so I guess you could potentially manage the max strain you put on your vehicle). Going too far over over the 9,500 may deform your chassis. If you still had warranty on the car then I assume damage using a 12,000 pound winch could void your warranty?
