Prado 150 diesel auto GXL - Several times I have had one wheel of either or another lock and throw the car sideways. Has anyone one esle had problems with severe brake locking in rapid brake applications? If so, what fixes have you tried and they work?

Sounds to me like you need to visit Toyota. In nearly 4 years I have only had the stability control come on once on the road and it was almost imperceptible, just the beeping to let me know I was being unduly naughty. If the car is being thrown around take it to the doctor. My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

It could be Toyotas ever so wise decision to install some ridiculous emergency brakeing system.
If you move from accelerator to brake too quickly it hits the anchors for you, harder than you'd like usually.
I had it happen a few times when I first got the vehicle, it has settled down (or I have) now.
However if its throwing the vehicle around then something might not be right. Chat to Toyota.
If you're lucky they'll give you a lecture on ABS, and all their fantastic electronic aids... LOL.2011 150series GXL

If I remember correctly, there was a recall for the traction control system on the 150 series. The first few of them had to have the system reprogrammed so that it was not as "intrusive". It went global when car reviewers put the new 150 series Prado's through its paces only to find them stepping out sideways unexpectedly. Like this...
Definitely speak to Toyota.

Sounds downright dangerous to me.
