  • 150 Brake pad life

I was surprised to find that my rear pads needed replacing at 50k and fronts were about half worn . I've always found on several cars that I've owned that the fronts go first and the rears go on and on . Anyone else found this ?
    Cheers

I understand that the rear pads are smaller than the front ones. There is also a proportional valve in the rear that is attached to the diff housing that picks up if there is a load in the rear of the vehicle or if it is towing and therefore applying more braking force to the rear.
If you don't carry heavy loads or tow lots I would have them checked for operation. My fronts are apparently 1mm better off than my front ones. (But I don't trust the service agent to get the measurement correct). Get a second opinion from someone you can trust.
