  • Bleeding brakes on 2011 GX Prado 150 KDJ150 after braided line replacement

Hi, I was wondering if anyone can assist with some information on my Prado 150 GX KDJ150 2011 model. I have trawled the threads here and I can't seen to find the information I am looking for.

So once I gravity bleed my brake lines, and replace the damaged brake line (decided to replace all flexible lines with a braided line), I am stuck at the part of refilling the DOT 3 and bleeding at each caliper.

I have seen conflicting ideas about which order to bleed the brakes once I replace the brake fluid. Does anyone know for this model if there is a service manual that touches on the order of bleeding here? Or a procedure for bleeding and refilling brake fluid after replacing the flexible lines?

The brake fluid is very old so I do want to replace the entire systems fluid.

I think the conflicting material I was finding was regarding ABS. It is just a standard GX model, I believe with a standard ABS

    Thankyou if anyone can assist.

I don't have a service manual so the following is a suggestion.

I would gravity bleed all 4 at once at the callipers. Then shut off the front brake nipples and turn the ignition to ON without starting the car. Then depress the brake pedal and let the pump do the work to bleed the brake fluid out the rear callipers. Shut the rear brake nipples and open the front (one side at a time) and pump the brake pedal a few times. This is just a little bit extra steps to ensure that the air is completely removed.

Awesome, thank you. I will give it a try when I attempt it next weekend.
