The traction control works so well on the snow that boys with competition trucks with me on one trip dropped their jaws, they could not believe what the 150 was doing. Sand mud or snow, when you stop moving, the TC stops working.
So I take it you never turn of the TC, just lock the center diff?

Turning the TC off is not what it suggests. It does not turn it off, it minimises it. In normal mode the vehicle will slow to a stop in wheel slip conditions with your foot all the way down as the TC winds back the power and once stopped you are usually stuck. Turn the TC off and it still works but does not wind back the torque. Important to do this on soft sand as you will become stuck very quickly if you run out of momentum due to traction control interference.
