This is what I have in the front of mine, its a genuine cooler and as far as I know is standard on all 120's (V6 anyway maybe from GXL upwards, I know the grande has it for sure and the VX not sure on the GX ?? and dont know about the diesel 1kz or D4D ??) this is in addition of the cooler in the radiator which is located at the bottom of the radiator. I can see where the hoses go into the radiator then to the cooler and so on....Hope this may help anyone wondering if they have one or not.........I havnt looked uner the bonnet of a 150 so dont know wether there is one or not ?? Cheers Steve

Ok this is from an 08 120 but with a D4D, its got a genuine tow bar on the back but guess what ?? no cooler like my V6

So im guessing the diesels dont have a cooler on the D4D's as standard. cant tell with looking at pictures on carsales with the 150's as the grille doesnt come up with the bonnet like on the 120's so cant see. Maybe out of curiosity some one with a V6 can check behind their grille and see wether they have a factory cooler or not on their 150. If so then this should be able to be used for a D4D and that way everything will be neat and tidy and be held into place securely using the toyota mounting brackets as per the 120's are.....Would be better then an after market one...........Cheers Steve

Seeing as I have been crawling a lot under the FJ and it has the same V6 as the 150, I can confirm that there is an auto trans cooler, the same if not very similar to my 120 V6.

The 150 petrol (GXL) is the same, apart from the A/T radiator sitting a little higher up, which gives it some protection behind the radiator grill. If your grill has a mesh cover, there is little chance of damage being caused by stones, sticks, etc.

Good point Yowie might have to look into that. I'm still to get the plate that goes between the soverign bar (spelling) and the bottom of the front support panel to also protect the radiator/aircon condensor, add it to the list which is getting no where at the moment lol bloody weddings......Cheers Steve

Sorry A10, I was not as clear as I should have been. I cannot use tranmission coolant temp gauge unless I update my Scangauge and from feedback to date it is not reliable enough to bother. I watch the radiator coolant temp and if it starts to go up, I go down a gear or ease up a bit. I did have the Auto Temp light come on once when driving up a road that gradually turned into a 4wd track (not towing and pre Scangauge). I was only running low revs and probably in second, went to low range and kept the revs over 2000 and the light went out although going ever steeper up hill. Using this as a guide I keep the revs at or over 2000 when towing and have never had another issue. I do like the trans cooler mounted up with the radiator and as long as there is enough flexability and length to the transmission to avoid a haemorrhage.
