  • How happy are you with your ATM ?

is everyone happy with the ATM, with the way itīs switching ?
I find ATM other Brands doing the job better, e.g. switching earlier up and not so quickly down, using more the torque.

I am extremely happy with my ATM, ATM (at the moment). Especially when it spits out the cash from the horizontal slot.

Oh wait what does ATM stand for? I am assuming it is Automatic Teller Machine.

ATM? Would be good if you were a bit clearer on what you we're talking about. Took me a bit to work it out.

I thought, ATM stands for Automatic-Transmission-Gearbox. this is what I meant.

I have had mine for a week now and I am very happy with it. I've just gone from a 4 speed (90 series) to a 5 speed auto.
I am guessing you are in Germany (Bavaria). You may have a different calibration in the trans in the European market to what we do in Australia. May be something to consider as the majority of responses you will get will be from Australian members.

if I just press slightly the Gas, it is switching back. Try this at lets say 100km/h and see if you can increase speed without the AT is swichting back (of course in D). I have noticed with other AT, they make more use of the torque, even my old J9 does this.
With this hectic switching, relaxed cruising is not so much possible.
Now driving on dirt roads, it must be even worse.
I think, no Cruiser in the passt had such a nervously switching AT.

If the AT doesn't switch back it's all slip in the torque converter... I know which I'd prefer.

My ATMG-box is great smooth yet crisp shifts. Yes sometimes it's reluctant to kick down but a little more right boot gets the ball rolling. Off road on sand the sports shift is awesome.

If you drive it like you pay for your own fuel, it learns to get lazy and as KAKADAZ says "you need more right boot" or 'S' mode

I wasn` that impressed with the 150 atm in the 2010 model, now in the 2012 model they have smartened it up a bit. Guess I should have gotten the old one reprogrammed.

Is that a technical term for "not working properly"?

Yes, I've found the 150 series auto trans interesting too, especially 4th and 5th. I drive in Sports mode most of the time and to downshift from lockup to torque converter I breifly back off the throttle and it works fine and as soon as there as there is a hint excessive slip, ping it back a gear. Caterpillar had auto transmissions years ago that you could manually govern the lockup/torque converter mode by a flick of the lever - that would be a good option by way of a switch, to have in sports mode especially in speed situations when the trans wants hunt in and out of lockup.
