  • Prado 150 - checking transmission fluid level

I just fitted my transmission oil cooler and want to check the transmission fluid level. Apparently temperature, 46-56°, is critical when checking the fluid level but I haven't found a way of checking the transmission temperature for the 150, all the previous threads seem to be for the 120 series.

I tried the method described in this thread http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread...smission+fluid, but shorting out the OBD port terminal 4 and 13 just results in a whole bunch of warning lights in my dash.

I also have an OBD2 reader but I can't find the transmission temp. Help please!

Problem solved, went and bought a Infrared Thermometer Gun for $39 from SCA. Point it at the sump which seems to be the logical place to measure transmission temp.
