Any Difference Between D and S5

I am curious to know if there is any difference between D and S5.

S mode holds the gears longer. And D should not be used when towing.

Drive your Prado in S5 at a constant speed, then slot it into D. The revs should still be the same, which means no difference. And agree with comment from amts.
