Jerk whilst stationary and coasting

G'day all,
Seem to have developed (or only just started to notice) a slight jerk the car is doing when coasting from around 40kmh (throttle off) or when stationary. This only occurs whilst in drive. Feels like a slight little jerk like someone has pushed the car.
I've read a lot about this tailshaft clunk that people experience but from what I've read that only happens stationary and seems to happen straight out the factory, not at 150,000km like mine is.
Any suggestions as to the reason?

NB 120 but: My tailshaft issues started at 40,000km (not new). CMI Toyota fixed it, it came back around 50,000km, the fixed it again and no problem since. Only noticed at stop/start. Hope someone has an answer for you, in the meantime I offer my typical useless answer as follows:

I'm getting that now at 162K. Feels like MLC is sneaking up behind me and getting a little bit too cosey.

Now this might be me just 'over feeling' things but I noticed a slight jerk whilst cruising at 110 too. It's almost like the throttle has been backed off an put back on. No change in speed or RPM at all (had a 5 hour drive yesterday to watch it all). Has anyone else experienced this or is it my brain making stuff up?

Jimmy is this while you have cruise control on? If so it's a known problem and your Toyota dealer should be able to fix it with a software update. I had a similar thing happening on my car, was normally happening at the bottom of a hill or a dip.

I just greased my tail shaft and the shunting motion has gone.

I know the feeling well, mine waited till out of warranty so couldn't get prop shaft replacement although have heard replacement one not much better.
Varies from a solid clunk to feeling like someone rolled into me.
I now grease front and rear prop shafts every second service, just a couple of pumps in each using moly based grease.

Do you notice how by pumping on the grease gun the tail shaft length increases.

That's why I only did a couple of pumps, mechanic mate said not to overdo it.

You should be greasing the tail shaft more often and use less grease. Every second service is too long in my oppinion. They 1-2 pumps of grease in each uni at each service, 2-3 pumps in each slip joint. That's what I do on every vehicle we service.

Does the constant greasing cause callouses?

But 2 - 3 pumps wouldn't be enough to satisfy MLC.
